Mr. Henry C. Tucker departed this life on Sunday, May 8, 2016 in Panama City, Florida.

Mr. Tucker was born on December 23, 1936 to the late James and Gertrude Cotton Tucker in Campbellton, Florida.

He retired from Campbellton Farm Services with over thirty years of service.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Polly Tucker and two brothers: Matthew James Tucker and Warren Tucker.

He leaves his wife of fifty-six years, Rachel Johnson Tucker of Campbellton, Florida; his children: Perry and his wife Kim Tucker of Kansas City, Missouri, Dennis and his wife LaTonia Tucker of Houston, Texas, Jerry, Gregory and Brenda Tucker all of Campbellton, Florida; one brother, Willie E. and his wife Jeanette Tucker of Graceville, Florida; four sisters: Queen and her husband Mark Harrison of Campbellton, Florida, Emma and her husband Joseph Baker of Malone, Florida, Olean Mwaura of Orlando, Florida and Hazel and her husband Herbert Russ of Dothan, Alabama; five grandchildren: eight great grandchildren; five brothers-in-law: Andrew and Ezell Johnson both of Chipley, Florida, Jaries, Edward and Eddie Dean Johnson all of Campbellton, Florida; five sisters-in-law: Sallie Johnson of Chipley, Florida, Elouise Johnson of Campbellton, Florida, Northanna and Eula Johnson both of Jacob City, Florida and Eva Tucker of Orlando, Florida; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be 3-7 PM, Friday, May 13, 2016 in the M. Sue & Rodney D. Pittman Memorial Chapel, located at the funeral home, 5441 Cooper Street, Graceville, Florida.

Mrs. Jacquelyn Curry Olds age 46 of Graceville, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Monday May  16, 2016 at the Campbellton-Graceville Hospital after an extended illness with her family at her bedside.

She is survived by her children: Zarius, Darius, Dennie, Kadhen and JaKaih Moore; siblings: Curtis Pinkard, Graceville, FL, Douglas Pinkard (Stephanie) of Evans, GA, Donald Pinkard, Marianna, FL, Ricky Mack (Jeana) of Bradenton, FL, Ronnie Mack of Graceville, FL, Clara Pinkard of Chipley, FL, Stephanie Pinkard of Graceville, FL, Deborah Pinkard of St. Petersburg, FL, Cassie Williams of Graceville, FL, Sonya Curry, Tonia Curry and Sharon Curry all of Dothan, AL and Lynn Sorey of Baltimore, MD.

Eudonis Garrard Sloan

Mrs. Eudonis Garrard Sloan, 87, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Graceville, Florida went home to be with the Lord on June 14, 2016.

Eudonis came to Sarasota with her mother, father, and younger sister as a young girl. She was a graduate of Booker High School, and lived out her days as a resident of the Newtown community.

Known as “Donnie “ to her friends, the oldest daughter of David and Ella Mae Garrard was a pillar of the Greater Hurst Chapel AME Church and Sarasota’s first licensed African-American insurance salesperson, calling on Newtown residents door-to-door.

She was also the first African-American department supervisor in the history of Sears Department Store of Sarasota, and local residents may remember her waiting on them in the candy department or the children’s clothing department in the ‘60’s, ‘70’s and 80’s. Older residents may remember “Donnie “ selling them a ticket to a show at Overtown’s Ace Movie Theater in the ‘40’s and ‘50’s.

A widow preceded in death by her husband, Mack Sloan, her mother, Ella Mae Garrard Singleton; her father, David Garrard all of Newtown, and her sister, Ruby Garrard Woodson of Sarasota.

Eudonis is survived by a nephew, William Garrard Woodson (Frances); great-niece, Erica Woodson; great-nephew: Ajani Lewis-McGhee; adopted granddaughter, Angelique Ferdinand; stepson Calvin Sloan, and a host of other relatives.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 4 pm, at Hinson Cemetery in Graceville, FL under the directions of Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville.

Harrel Jerome Antionio “Hap” Anderson, Sr.

Mr. Harrel Jerome Antionio “Hap” Anderson, Sr., age 59, of Greenwood, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 1, 2016 at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan at 12:49 A.M.

 Life began on April 26, 1957 for Harrel Jerome Antionio Anderson, Sr. in Marianna, FL.

He confessed Christ at an early age and joined McChapel A.M.E Church. where he served faithfully as a YPD, Sunday School and Allen Christian Fellowship (ACE League) member as well as a Steward, Trustee, Usher, President of the Youth Usher Board, President Of The Sons of Allen and Member Of The McChapel Male Choir.

He attended the public school system in Cottonwood, AL. He furthered his education and graduated from Job Corps. He later joined the United States Army as a Tanker, DI Sergeant. He was employed with Cooking Good and the State of Florida-Sunland at Marianna for many years.

Harrel who was affectionally known as “Hap, Happy, and June Bug” was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, farming, fishing, bowling, and traveling. Hap touched the lives of many with his words of wisdom, honesty, and sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Noah “NG, Lil Dee”, Hester Bell Gibson and Lige Lee Johnson; fathers: Otis (Hood) Gibson and David L. Anderson; brother: Michael Anderson; and father-in-law, Willie C. Balkcom.

A lifetime of precious memories are left with a caring and devoted family to include: his wife of almost 30 years: Mary Carol Anderson; daughter: Antoinette Chanell Anderson “baby girl”; son, Harrel Jerome Antionio Anderson, Jr. “C.J.”; grandson: Michael Ki’lyn Daughtry “MJ”, all of Greenwood, FL; his mother: Dorothy Jean Gibson “Dunk”, Marianna, FL; grandmother, Essie Mae Johnson, Panama City, FL; special aunts and uncle: Mary L. Mr. Anderson will be laid to rest in the church cemetery under the directions of Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville.

Mrs. Josephine Mills Taylor, age 72, of Graceville went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Wiregrass Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Geneva, Alabama. 

She was a native of Jackson County, attended Saint Paul High School in Campbellton, Florida and a volunteer with Covenant Hospice Care.

A service of remembrance will be held Wednesday, July 20th at 2:00P.M. at the M. Sue & Rodney D. Pittman Memorial Chapel 5441 Cooper Street in Graceville.

A private interment will be held at the Graceville Community Cemetery following the services and under the directions of Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville.

Mr. Coleman Anderson “Cam” Lee, age 64, of Graceville, FL formerly of Gordon, Alabama went home to be with Lord on Monday, August 1, 2016 at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan.

“Cam” is survived by his devoted soulmate, Gladys W. Pittman of Graceville, FL; a son, Kevin Vontay Lee of Texas; siblings: Lula Mae Baxter, Malone, FL, Huey Lee, Jr., (Edna), Etta Mae Pender, Mary Lee and Betty Peterson (friend, Taylor Collins) all of Gordon, AL; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, August 5, 2016, 1-7 PM, in the M. Sue & Rodney D. Pittman Memorial Chapel, located at the funeral home.

Mr. Audrey Gray, Jr. age 67, of Cottondale, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Saturday August 6, 2016 at the Signature Health and Rehabilitation Center at the Court Yard of the Mill Pond in Marianna, Florida.

He was a native of Jackson County and a member of Saint Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in Cottondale.

Mr. Gray leaves to cherish his memories three brothers; Evangelist Sam Gray (Agnes) and Arthur Gray (Millouise) and Larry Gray all of Cottondale, FL; four sisters; Bernice Gray Britt (David), Doretha Gray and Lee Gray all of Cottondale, FL and Dorothy Gray of Jacob City, two grandchildren: Mercedes Brown of St. Petersburg, Florida and Marlana Walton of Bradenton, FL; three great grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends of Clearwater and Bradenton, FL.

Ruby Lee Pittman

Mrs. Ruby Lee Pittman, age 96, of Campbellton, FL went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 8, 2016 at the Campbellton-Graceville Hospital, surrounded by her loving and devoted family.

Ruby Lee was born July 10, 1920 in Campbellton, Florida to Raymond Butler, Sr., and Lillian Butler.

At the age of 6 months old, Ruby Lee lost her beloved mother, Lillian Butler. By God’s grace, mercy and love she survived this devastation of growing up without her biological mother, with support of her father and aunt, Lillie Adams.

She was converted at the age of 11 years old, this was the beginning of her Christian journey. She joined the Shady Grove Church and gave the Reverend Yates her hand and God her heart.

Later she joined Saint Paul AME Church, around 1932, along wither her father and her stepmother. Her pastor was the Reverend Jackson at that time. She was a member of the choir, participated in Sunday School, Youth Department and other auxiliaries.

In 1937, she joined Issac Pittman, Sr., in Holy Matrimony, they were married forty-one years and to this union she gave birth to fourteen children, now six children survive her.

She has always been very active in her children until health forced her to stop. She has been responsible for many groups to perform at Saint Paul Church, such as The Professor Harold Buggs, many other local groups to raise money for the church finance. She was very active with the Youth Department, Pastor Aid Auxiliary and member of the Missionary Board for many years.

She is survived by her children: Frank Pittman (Doris) of Orlando, Florida, Willie L. Pittman (Brenda) of Owings Mills, Maryland, Otis Pittman (Barbara) of Houston, Texas, Melvin Pittman (Clara) of Orlando, Florida, Linda Redding of Stone Mountain, Georgia and Vivian Pittman of Campbellton, Florida; a sister: Beatrice Baker of Miami, Florida; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 2-7 PM, Friday, August 19, 2016, in the M. Sue & Rodney D. Pittman Memorial Chapel, 5441 Cooper Street, Graceville, FL.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 20, 2016, in the Saint Paul AME Church, Campbellton, FL with the Reverend Linda Nickles-Dukes, Pastor, the Reverend Sandra Jones, Presiding and the Reverend Curtis Pittman (grandson) Eulogist.

Interment will be follow in the church cemetery under the directions of Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, FL.

Mrs. Irma  J. Johnson, age 103, of Slocomb, AL went home to be with the Lord on Thursday September 15, 2016 at the Dale County Medical Center in Ozark, AL.

She was a member of the Countyline Missionary Baptist Church in Slocomb.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Johnson, Sr. and their son: Joe Johnson.

She is survived by her children: Willie Mae Morris and Eva Grace Airhart of Chicago, IL, Doris Dennis of Boston, MA, Ellie C. Robinson of Boston, MA, Jack (Emily) Johnson of Boston, MA, Irma Smith, Slocomb, AL,  Madie (Frank) Hampton of San Antonio, TX and Preston Johnson, Jr. of Slocomb, AL, and Kubadean (Floyd) Priester  of Houston, TX; one daughter-in-law: Joyce Johnson of Stone Mountain, GA. thirty-seven grandchildren, fifty great grandchildren and twenty five great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 5-7 PM, Friday, September 23, 2016, at Countyline Missionary Baptist Church in Slocomb.

A celebration of life will be 12 noon, Saturday, September 24, 2016, Countyline Missionary Baptist Church in Slocomb, the Reverend J.B. Dawsey, pastor.

Lois Elaine Gammons Harrison

Lois Elaine Gammons Harrison, 64, of Lynn Haven, FL went home to be Lord on September 21, 2016 in Panama City, Florida.

Mrs. Harrison was born on August 23, 1952 to Mary Lee Thornton Hood and Clarence Gammons.

She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church of Lynn Haven, Florida.

She was a 1970 graduate of Rutherford; graduated from Gulf Coast Community College and University of West Florida and was a Registered Nurse for 30 years at Bay Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her son Clarence LaDon Harrison and husband of 34 years, Brian David Harrison.

Mrs. Harrison leaves to mourn one daughter, Deondra Harrison Grady; three grandchildren, Darryl Grady III, Davion Grady and Damari Grady; four sisters; Barbara Pittman of Panama City, Roshell Durr (Willie James Durr) of Newville, AL, Nevale Hill (Rev. Darryl Hill) of Panama City and Donna Profio (Dr. Joseph  Profio) of Montgomery, AL; nieces and nephews:  Eric Pittman, Montricia Kenney, Rodney Peoples, Regis Peoples, Reginald Hill, Sr., Darryl Hill Jr., Theresa Dunnavant, Gertrude Profio, Mary Loveless, Antonella Profio and Josie Profio; a special friend Alice Franklin, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Deothron Lamar Clay, Jr., age 66, of Greenwood, Florida and formerly of Orange City, New Jersey went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday September 21, 2016 at Jackson Hospital in Marianna, FL.

He retired from the Florida Department of Corrections.

A time of remembrance will be held Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. at the Rodney D. & M. Sue Pittman Memorial Chapel at 5441 Cooper Street in Graceville under the directions of Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville.

Deothron ‘Butch’ Lamar Clay, Jr., born on January 6, 1950, to Hiawatha and Deothron Lamar Clay, Sr., in Orange City, New Jersey.

He leaves behind his loving wife Mary of 46 years of marriage; his  kids: Deothron Clay, Jr., Dionne Smith, Deshiba Clay, David Clay (Michelle), Corey Foster; eight grandchildren: Divad Smith, Keon Dre Smith,  Dasia Epps, Demon Epps, Dria Clay,  Korriyah Foster, Coriana Foster and Cordele Foster; two special god brothers: Randy Williams and Clarence Holden (Mildred); one and only first cousin: Maryland Clopton (TC); special friends: Craig Holmes, Jimmy Lee and Pat Williams and many, many, close relatives, special friends, and former coworkers.

He joins his brother Eugene Henry Clay whom was called to rest at Bay Medical in Panama City on September 15, 2016, after his surrender to be with the Lord.

Interment will follow at a later date and under the directions of Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, Florida.

Lucious Charles Gray, Jr.

Mr. Lucious Charles Gray, Jr. (aka LC) of Jacob City, FL,  answered the call of his Lord on and Savior on September 26, 2016.

L.C. was born October 11, 1945 in Panama City, Florida to the late Lucious, Sr., and Lula Russell Gray.

He accepted Christ and was a member of  Saint Mary Missionary Baptist  Church of Jacob City, Florida. He was employed with Rex Lumber Company in Graceville, FL. He was a member of Silver Leaf Lodge No. 521, Most Ancient and Honorable Fraternity of Free and Accepted Masons of Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Mary R. Gray; children: Andrea Gray, Tampa, FL, Latonya Gray, Jacob City, FL and Antonio Gray (Nickayla), Niceville, FL; five grandchildren; sister: Jackie Gray Cobb, Duquesne, PA; brothers: Willie D. Gray (Mary), Campbellton, FL and Jerome Gray, Jacob City, FL; sisters and brothers-in-law: Gloria Allen, Joyce Russ, Linda Pullin, Johnny Russ, James Russ, Robert Russ and Darrell Russ; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Ola Mae Ward, age 91, of Greenwood, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Marianna Health and Rehabilitation Center in Marianna. 

She was a member of Buckhorn Missionary Baptist Church in Marianna, Florida.

She is survived by her daughter, Toreather Long of Greenwood, Florida; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; eighteen nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

She will be placed in the church one hour prior to funeral service.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Greater Buckhorn Missionary Baptist Church, Marianna, FL with the Reverend William Harvey, Pastor.

Elder Hosea D. Mincy, Jr. age 87, of Lynn Haven, Florida entered into his internal life peacefully Wednesday morning, October 19, 2016 at Emerald Shores Nursing Facility in Panama City, Florida.

Elder Mincy the son of the late Hosea and Carrie Mincy was born January 25, 1929 in Youngstown FL.

Hosea accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior in 1975 under the leadership of Apostle Joe L. Payge of Edison, GA.

He was the Pastor of Miracle Deliverance Holiness Church of Panama City, Florida for twenty years.

He was a quiet spirited man, a pillar of strength. He always glorified God; he was not a shame of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A man filled with the Holy Ghost and his main concern was about winning souls for the Kingdom of God.  Elder Mincy left a legacy that all who knew him would never forget. He was a great family man that loved his family.

He was employed with Tommy Thomas Chevrolet Company for over twenty-five years and with Gulf Coast State College for eleven years under the direction of Bishop A.E. Cutler, Sr.; they had great respect for each other.

He was preceded in death by his parents; seventeen sisters and brothers; two children: Ella Dunkin and Brian Harrison; two grandsons: LaDon Harrison and Steven Nelson.

Elder Mincy is survived by his children: Pastor Dr. Shirley (Paul) Caldwell, Doris (Ike) Mincy, Manford Oney, Robert (Annette) Oney, William (Net) Oney, James (Ruby) Oney, Dr. Julia (Dr. John) Haley and  Annie Ming; twenty-nine grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren; siblings: Maxine McCall, David (Clara) Mincy, Ike (Doris) Mincy and Truman Mincy and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

Visitation will be Monday, October 24, 2016, 3-7 PM, at the M. Sue and Rodney D. Pittman Memorial Chapel 5441 Cooper Street, Gracville, Florida.

A celebration of life will commence at 11 AM, Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the Miracle Deliverance Holiness Church, 819 MLK Jr., Blvd, Panama City, Florida with Pastor Walter J. Finley officiating.

Mrs. Pecola Hall, age 90, of Jacob City, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at her home.

She was a native of Jackson County, FL and a member of Saint Mary Missionary Baptist Church, Jacob City, FL.

She is survived by her children: Classie Henderson of Jacob City, FL, Flossie Coe and husband James of Ocala, Florida, Priscilla Ann Benbow of Jacob City, Florida, Vivian Webb, Jacob City, Florida, George Hall Jacob City, Florida and Earnest Hall and wife Sandra, of Jacob City, Florida; twelve grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday October 28th from 2:00P.M. until 7:00P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:00A.M. at Saint Mary Missionary Baptist Church, Jacob City, FL with the Reverend Obadiah White, pastor/teacher.

She will be laid to rest in the church cemetery under the directions of Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, FL.

Barbara Lynn Hughes, age 50, of the Saint Peter  Community in Slocomb, Alabama went home to be with the Lord on Thursday October 27, 2016 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama.

She is survived by her memories her daughter: Bacarrdii Rickia Morrow of Slocomb, AL; her mother: Annie Lee Hughes of Slocomb, AL; a brother: Roy Lee Hughes, Jr., Slocomb, AL; three sisters, Brenda Lee Hughes of Slocomb, AL, Slyvia Dozier of Cottonwood, AL and Sandra Hall (Earnest) of Jacob City, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Friday, November 4, 2016 at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at St. John A.M.E. Church in Campbellton, Florida with the Reverend Ann Riley officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery under the directions of Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, Florida.
